The Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation [IEI] of CEU Business School
cordially invite you to a special book presentation and discussion on:

"Peace Through Entrepreneurship: Investing in a Startup Culture for Security and Development"

Our guest speaker is Steven Koltai

This special IEI event will be hosted by CEUBS Professor Gyorgy Bogel

Date and Time: Thursday, Dec 8, 5:30-7 PM
Location: The Old CEU Auditorium, CEU, Nador 9, Ground Floor

This event is open to the public

Steven R. Koltai is a Guest Scholar at the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC USA and is Managing Director of entrepreneurship consultancy Koltai & Co., LLC. He is the author of the recently published book, Peace Through Entrepreneurship: Investing in a Startup Culture for Security and Development, published by Brookings Press (August 2016) and of the August-2016 Harvard Business Review article, “Entrepreneurship Needs to Be a Bigger Part of U.S. Foreign Aid.”
Steven is also a successful repeat entrepreneur in the telecommunications and event-management industries. From 2009-2011 he served as Senior Advisor for Entrepreneurship in Secretary Hillary Clinton’s State Department. In his recent book, Steven provides us a nonmilitary, long-term solution for development and prosperity at a time of disillusionment with a  “big development” approach for emerging and underdeveloped parts of the world. He argues that extremism will not be resolved by a war on terror. The answer instead, Koltai observes, lies in stimulating economic opportunity through entrepreneurship.

We hope that you can join us at this exciting event.

  • "I have been recently nominated as the Regional IT Manager for West Africa at Unilever. My CEU Business School education has been a key differentiator during an otherwise very competitive recruitment process. I would like to thank all my great peers of the 2013-14 cohort and the wonderful faculty at the B-School for the valuable learning experience I had during my time in BP."
