This year a very fresh team, LogiChord represented the CEU Business School in Entrepreneurship Avenue and the Pitch Award at Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) on May 22. Although the tenure of the EA encompassed almost three months’ of preparations, labs, group sessions for those who joined from the start, the LogiChord team tapped into the process less than 4 days before the actual event due to the possibility of a successful cooperation between the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (IEI) of CEUBS and the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute at WU. Both Judit-H Hajos of IEI and Rudolf Dömötör of WU are committed to a long standing cooperation between the two leading academic institutions to leverage the regional academic knowledge and professional practice oriented exchange opportunities.

The LogiChord start-up project is one of the most promising entrepreneurship course achievements from the CEUBS, which is why the IEI Committee had voted to grant this unique opportunity to the group via short list. After much-focused and intensive work of three days to perfect the pitch of only 3 minutes, the LogiChord team headed to Vienna to make an entry at the University of Vienna’s annual signature event. In addition to the mission of introducing CEUBS to the University of Vienna community, the Group had to concentrate on giving an entry pitch – the first on such large-scale – at the event. The CEUBS team fared very well among a total of 9 teams (from European Countries, New Zealandetc.) as post-pitch feedback from fellow pitchers, participants, start-uppers and jury strengthened the impressions that both the refreshing idea and pitch were greeted and appreciated beyond expectations. Several enquiries of investors and competitors prove that the project has a great potential for becoming a real business.

Student participants representing the CEUBS were: Andras Novak and Andras Balazs as founders, and the third founderas freelancer was: Reka Szabo Dr.

The LogiChord team originally was set up by the three founders out of the CEUBS however it is supervised now by Professors Gyorgy Bogel and Gabor Baranyai. The LogiChord team intends to continue the project outside of CEUBS as it was their preliminary intention and goal from the first moment.

EA is Austria’s largest student start-up event series consisting of the Entrepreneurship Lab and Conference with a clear intention to proactively connect young entrepreneurs and potential funders in an academic-professional environment. This was the third year WU, one of Austria’s top international universities, organized the event, which attracted huge number of the participants from all over Europe and New Zealand, representing academia, investment and start-up world and potential entrepreneurs - more than 20 universities and plenty of nations were represented at the event. The EA, in a nutshell, is an all-day event for a lavish sneak-peek into the hottest concepts of the entrepreneurship scene in an undeniably state-of-the-art context and form.

Although the LogiChord team did not win a prize on the EA they profited a lot regarding the possibility of explaining the main milestones and goals of the project which has been in theoretical phase until now. Possibilities are the most important things in life which are essential for a start-up project. This event was very useful and gave the LogiChord team a boost to make the first steps for putting the ideas and plans into the reality.

For kids, parents and educators LogiChord is an innovative, reliable and creative music teaching system providing an engaging and fun way of learning music and playing the piano, the quickest way

LogiChord is a new sign system of music theory describing the coherences between notes with teaching materials. Its models facilitate and speed up the teaching and learning processexceptionally, thus placing successful experiences in the center.

The sign-system consists of 2 shapes, 3 colors and 4 numbers, dividing the 12 notes into equal segments: the shapes divide the notes into 12 minor seconds and 6 major seconds, the colors divide them into 4 minor thirds, and the numbers into 3 major thirds. From the signs theorizing all intervals, scale and chord simply can be built. From the shapes you can easily build up scale models, and accord models from the colors and numbers. These models can be transposed to all notes.

This innovative method is now in the reshaping phase. The core of the method invented more than ten years ago has been tested and proven in the Hungarian business environment, but has to be restructured by the business development activity of LogiCord team for making it able to convince international markets. There is great potential in the invention but without proper understanding of a homogenous, strong market the product implementation will fail. LogiChord team designed a premium B2B franchise business model to reach the market.

My CEU Business School education has been a key differentiator during an otherwise very competitive recruitment process. I would like to thank all my great peers of the 2013-14 cohort and the wonderful faculty at the B-School for the valuable learning experience I had during my time in BP."
