How efficiently does government spend taxpayer money?

Professor Miklos Koren, Head of the Department of Economics at CEU, Program Director of MSc in Business Analytics

The CEU MicroData research group analyzes 200,000 public procurement decisions in Hungary to find out.

In this talk, Professor Miklos Koren introduces a statistical, machine learning approach to finding typical government contracts and to spot outliers.

The method can be used to identify unusually strong associations between particular buyers and suppliers.

It can also be used in business, analyzing data from supplier and customer relationship management systems.

  • "I have been recently nominated as the Regional IT Manager for West Africa at Unilever. My CEU Business School education has been a key differentiator during an otherwise very competitive recruitment process. I would like to thank all my great peers of the 2013-14 cohort and the wonderful faculty at the B-School for the valuable learning experience I had during my time in BP."
