Abid Hussain's talk will provide a new perspective in understanding how the television medium in Asia has changed in the last 10 years. Television advertising, marketing and promotion have greatly evolved in countries like India, Korea and Indonesia, affecting the region's economy and the consumer ecology of these countries.
Drawing on personal experience, Hussain will also discuss career opportunities in media and how roles which were nonexistent five years ago are becoming sought after in the broadcast and creative industry today.
The lecture will also feature several case studies from India, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia.
Abid Hussain is a specialist in broadcast creative solutions, on-air promo strategy, creative mentoring and campaign designing. He is the creative director for Astro All Asia Networks Plc, managing a team of almost 40 people for 14 Astro Network channels in two South Asian countries. Hussain is also the founder of Creative Stew, a one-stop shop for all branding, design, production and post-production needs. Hussain was born in India. He holds bachelor degrees in English literature and tourism management, and a master’s in film and television, film business, television production and film critique. Download full bio.
