The Katalyst EMBA, the first truly international EMBA program in Central and Eastern Europe that is specifically designed for busy and forward-thinking executives, entrepreneurs and other management professionals.

This weekend program is delivered in Warsaw and Budapest in parallel approximately every three weekends. The program leverages the deep knowledge, resources, experience and creative imagination of faculty and students at both institutions. Novel and valuable new learning approaches that form part of the Katalyst EMBA include a state-of-the-art modernized curriculum, study teams comprising CEU and WUT students, introduction of special holistic thematic weekends and “super- Katalyst-weekends” (when both classes will meet to together in Warsaw or Budapest). We believe that this first-of-its-kind EMBA collaboration will contribute immeasurably to the nurturing of needed managerial and entrepreneurial talent in the CEE and beyond.

WHY THE “KATALYST” EMBA?

  • A new standard of quality in executive education in the CEE and the first fully international EMBA program in Central Europe
  • An enhanced global perspective, linking general managerial knowledge with unique experience in Central and Eastern Europe
  • The result of a strategic alliance between:
    -  WUT Business School – one of the most renowned Polish business schools (created in cooperation between WUT and three leading European schools: LBS, HEC, NHH), and
    -  Central European University Business School (founded by George Soros, chartered by New York State, and operating in Budapest, Hungary for over 25 years).
  • Real-time video streamed class-room connection between Budapest and Warsaw
  • Taking place in parallel in Warsaw and Budapest, with a common Katalyst certificate, as well as an MBA Degree from CEU (for the Budapest-based students) and from WUT (for the Warsaw-based students).
  • A high degree of cross-program integration with a common Katalyst certificate awarded, as well as an MBA (with either EPAS (for WUT) or AMBA (for CEU) accreditation)
  • Using a common pool of outstanding international professors from both business schools
  • Some classes delivered in parallel by the same professors, linking students in both campuses with common coursework
  • Some classes and workshops will be attended together by students from both campuses - in Warsaw and in Budapest
  • Opportunities for combining students from both campuses: with common classes, and common group work
  • Exchangeability of credits/courses between programs, for specific courses
  • A broad selection of elective classes in Warsaw or Budapest is available.

  • "I have been recently nominated as the Regional IT Manager for West Africa at Unilever. My CEU Business School education has been a key differentiator during an otherwise very competitive recruitment process. I would like to thank all my great peers of the 2013-14 cohort and the wonderful faculty at the B-School for the valuable learning experience I had during my time in BP."
