Future of Big Data Scholarships & Training

The Future of Big Data Scholarship & Training Program, is a scholarship program for students pursuing the MSc in Business Analytics or the MSc in Finance passionate about programming and data analysis.

The scholarships are awarded by a London investment firm. They cover full tuition, a dedicated mentor providing academic support, and a paid research assistantship for those in need of financial assistance.

Scholarship recipients who perform well in their studies may be considered for an internship at the investment firm’s London office.

To be considered, applicants must

  • hold a bachelor’s (or higher) degree from a reputable institution, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, in a quantitative field such as science, computer science, mathematics, engineering or economics
  • have a GMAT or equivalent GRE score of 600 or higher, or achieve an equivalent score on CEU's online mathematics test after applying
  • demonstrate keen interest in programming, data analysis and financial markets.

The scholarship committee may accept CEU’s online mathematics test in place of the GMAT or GRE at its discretion. The test may be taken by appointment at any time after we have received your application.

Early deadline February 1, 2017; late applications for scholarships on the MSc in Finance considered until June 12, 2017

To apply please submit the following:

  • a completed MSc in Business Analytics or MSc in Finance application
  • a competitive GMAT or equivalent GRE score, if applicable
  • a statement of purpose that indicates that you wish to be considered for a Future of Big Data scholarship.

The scholarship committee will consider the applicant’s personal skills that may be relevant to working at an investment firm, such as knowledge of programming languages, applied mathematics and statistics courses previously taken etc.

The scholarship committee evaluates applications as they arrive.
