Our tuition fees are considerably lower than those of comparable graduate schools and
deeply below cost, made possible by a generous gift from founder George Soros.

Tuition schemes

  • Corporate tuition scheme

We offer tuition fee reductions of up to 25% to students from the same institution enrolling into any of our MSc programs in the same academic year. Programs included: MSc in Business Analytics, MSc in Finance, MSc in Technology Management and Innovation.

    • 5% each for two students
    • 15% each for three students
    • 25% each for four or more students.
  • Credit waivers and tuition reductions for MBA students and alumni

A1MBA and Katalyst Executive MBA students and alumni can take the MSc in Finance as a second degree:

    • take an MBA/MSc dual degree now, or return for your second degree within six years
    • credit waivers and proportional tuition fee reductions of up to 50% on your second degree.

Credit waivers are granted for the following courses completed within six years: Accounting, Finance, Business Economics, Investments, Quantitative Methods in Management.

  • Tuition reduction for CEU students and alumni

CEU students and alumni are entitled to a 15% tuition fee reduction on all our degree programs.

  • Spousal tuition reduction

We offer a 5% tuition fee reduction to spouses enrolling into any of our MSc programs in the same academic year. Programs included: MSc in Business Analytics, MSc in Finance, MSc in Technology Management and Innovation.

Important information

  • General notes
    • A payment of EUR 500 is required to secure your place at the time of acceptance. From this amount CEU will apply 300 EUR towards the first installment of tuition due, and will retain the remaining 200 EUR as a damage deposit. The damage deposit of 200 EUR will be refunded shortly before graduation or withdrawal from CEU, as part of the leaving procedure, less any damage costs assessed or fees outstanding on the student’s account. For students who have confirmed their place of study but do not enroll, the General Deposit of 500 EUR is not refundable.
    • The majority of reading materials for courses are digital, and their cost is included in the tuition fee. Students are required to have a tablet or laptop computer.
    • Room and board is not included in the tuition fee. Learn about the costs of living in Budapest.
    • Fees for re-enrollment, late payment, and late drop/add can be accessed from the Student Services Office.
  • Loans and financial aid

Large banks in many countries offer loans at preferred rates for educational programs.

Central European University has Title IV registration at the U.S. Department of Education and is therefore qualified to participate in the Federal Student Financial Assistance Programs authorized by Title IV of the Higher Education Act (Title IV, HEA Program). CEU's Federal School Code is: G40215.
