Charles Huebner, a member of CEU Business School’s Advisory Board, has been awarded with an In-Recognition-of-Service Certificate as an acknowledgement for this outstanding, decades-long support of CEU Business School.
Charles Huebner, a Hungarian-American, had an impressive career with General Electric in the USA. He then became the 2nd Managing Director, in Hungary, of the Hungarian-American Enterprise Fund (HAEF), established by the US Congress to administer the $78 million fund the US set up -- in effect, had given to Hungary -- to promote private enterprise during the early stages of economic transformation. In that position, and in his many related activities (for example, at the US-Hungarian Chamber of Commerce), Charles got to know many leaders of the US business community involved in Hungary, as well as their Hungarian counterparts. After he retired from HAEF, he put his many contacts at the service of CEU Business School, by bringing outstanding business people to give presentations to our MBAs, and also to mentor them. Charles had a particularly strong interest in entrepreneurship, so he was active in helping several of our students working at the School's Innovation Lab.
