 CEU Business School & Harvard Business School - MOC affiliate network faculty Professor Noemi Alexa published her article in the Budapest Business Journal on how the same level of taxation results in different standards of living across the globe. One of the reasons why taxpayers' funds are not used properly is corruption. As the Corruption Perceptions Index of Transparency International demonstrated, Hungary has fallen from the best countries of the region to the most corrupt ones in Europe. While fair entrepreneurs and a transparent business sector is necessary to enhance the competitiveness of the country government should also take measures to curb systemic corruption.
