Alumni Shaker is a very successful informal event for CEU Business School alumni, organised by two of our alumni Emese Bíró and Tamás Czeglédi. It has fun elements such as a happy draw, meeting CEU Business School faculty members and discussions in pleasant venues in Budapest. These are very popular events with usually 50-60 alumni having a good time, so keep an eye on our news about it and join us!

CEU Business School, Dr Judit Gergely (IMC '89) Alumna Passes Away

We are saddened to report that our CEU Business School alumna Dr. Judit Gergely passed away with tragic suddenness on Wednesday, September 16.

Judit had only learned of her grave illness a month prior, and with her positive and courageous spirit fought valiantly to the end.

Judit was a beloved and respected member of the CEU community for nearly two decades, served as Department Coordinator of CEU Department of History and prior to that as CEU Human Resources Director. She made many significant contributions to the University.

To mention just a few: she was instrumental in establishing CEU’s Human Resources Office, both as a lawyer and as an experienced HR professional, and served as its first Director. She also made a valuable contribution in the preparations for CEU's initial Hungarian accreditation.

At the request of her family, we are sending you (attached) the announcement of the time and venue of her funeral services. The attendance of anyone wishing to join the family in their bereavement is warmly appreciated. Please bring only a single flower to express your condolences.

Those wishing to send a message of consolation may do so here.

Judit will be greatly missed.

  • "I have been recently nominated as the Regional IT Manager for West Africa at Unilever. My CEU Business School education has been a key differentiator during an otherwise very competitive recruitment process. I would like to thank all my great peers of the 2013-14 cohort and the wonderful faculty at the B-School for the valuable learning experience I had during my time in BP."
